Bible Women Part A: Reading Notes

Bible Women pt. A includes Eve, Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Rachel, Leah, Potiphar's Wife, Jephthah's Daughter, Delilah, and Hannah.

Characteristics:
Eve:
  • Eve does not like to follow directions
  • Eve is easily influenced!
  • Eve is really not that great at listening
  • Eve's sin of eating the forbidden fruit was the first sin to be committed.
Sarah:
  • Sarah starts out as disbelieving and does not think she will bear a child.
  • Sarah is very old.
  • Sarah has never been able to have kids but her and Abraham have stayed faithful to each other.
  • Sarah ends up having a child and everyone celebrates.
Hagar:
  • Hagar was forced to conceive a child to Abraham, who was Sarah's husband.
  • Sarah hated Hagar when she conceived a child.
  • Hagar went to the wilderness.
Rebekah:
  • Rebekah was beautiful and a virgin.
  • Rebekah gave water to the man at the well.
  • Rebekah was a great hostess to the man at the well and ended up being sent with him.
  • Rebekah was loved by Isaac, and she also loved Isaac.
Jephthah's Daughter:
  • She was an only child.
  • She was obedient to her father.
I chose to focus on taking notes over the first four because they were the stories I was most familiar with, and then I took notes over Jephthah's Daughter because I did not know that story. Overall, I liked this note-taking style of finding characteristics of the different Bible Women, but I don't think it was my favorite style of taking notes. It has been hard to only focus on my favorite parts of the readings to take notes on instead of taking notes on the entire reading, just because my whole educational career I have been taught to summarize the entire story. Although it is hard, I really like the challenge and enjoy writing about the sections I like!

Introduction to Pip

Hi friends! Welcome to my blog :) My name is Piper, but most of my friends call me a slew of nicknames like Pipe, Pipey, Pipes, Pipeydoodle, Pip (hence Pip Pip Hurray)... you get the point! I am a student at the University of Oklahoma, and I am currently finishing up my last semester before I graduate (don't remind me, I'm getting emotional about it). I am from Tulsa, OK originally, and I would love to go back someday, but my future is pretty up in the air right now so I am not sure when that might be. I am studying Health and Exercise Science with an emphasis on Pre-Occupational Therapy, and the goal would be to start OT school in Summer 2020. I'm super passionate about people and forming relationships, which is what drew me to OT. I love the idea of working in a profession that allows me to make new friends, love others, and solve problems all at the same time. As well as my many nicknames, my friends call me an old lady at heart. I love to read (most recent book- Where...

Week 9 Story: Justice is Served

Justice is Served The husband and wife were so in love. They were ever thankful to the doctor for introducing them to each other. If it weren't for him, they would have never found each other. But that's beside the point. What they were really interested in was the money. They loved each other but they were both greedy. They thought they could never be ultimately happy unless they were rich. They both had worked for the doctor at one point or another, and so they knew that he had more money than he knew what to do with! The husband and wife were talking one night about their lack of income and how neither of them held jobs. They decided that their best bet would be to deceive the doctor and take his money! The next day, the husband went to the doctor and asked if he could borrow some money to help his wife, who was sick. The doctor willingly gave the husband money, because he trusted him and wanted the wife to get better. A week later, the husband returned, claiming his wif...
