Week 13 Story- Salt and Pepper

Alice knocked on the door and there was no answer. She knocked again, still no answer. "I wonder what is going on in there," Alice said to herself. She could hear people in the kitchen and knew that there was something going on, but no one would answer the door. After waiting for another five minutes or so, Alice finally decided to take matters into her own hands. She promptly turned the doorknob and walked right into the house. She followed the noise of cooking and laughing back into the kitchen and saw a cook, a woman, and a baby. The cook was furiously whipping up something on the stove. The cook mumbled, "I am missing it! I am missing what I need!" Alice thought, "Well now that smells delightful... I just must figure out what she is making... and what she is missing!" The woman was feeding the baby a bottle, and the baby was cooing in the mother's arms. Alice said, "Hello!" and the woman and the cook did not even look at Alice. She was wi...

Week 12 Story- Blog Story Revisions to "Mary and Martha...but mostly Martha"

"That darn Mary...I can't believe her. Every time I ask her to do something she's always got an excuse: 'Oh but Martha I have to go to read,' or 'Martha, I'm sorry I told ___ I would walk to the well with her so she could tell me about her latest problems,' or 'Oh Martha I really wish I could do that for you this morning but I told the women of the town we could meet and have a Bible study at that time.' Okay, I get it. She's a good person. But sometimes it would be nice to have a little bit of help around the house! All I ever do is cook and clean and cook and clean and cook and clean. Guess who reaps the benefits but never contributes? Mary. What am I going to do about her?" Martha's head was swirling was thoughts and complaints about her little sister who just didn't get it. Martha doesn't understand Mary, Mary doesn't understand Martha. They have a great relationship and they love each other a lot, but Martha has s...

Week 11 Story- The Fairy Bride Sequel

Oh, I have never been happier! After running away from my tribe and marrying Evergreen, I truly am overjoyed. I could not follow through with the wedding that my parents had arranged for me. There was no way that I was going to spend my entire life with a killer, someone who has no regard for animals and all of the love and life that they have for us. I decided the morning of my wedding that I would run away and finally find the happy land that I had always dreamt of. I knew that the fairies would accept me, not only because I looked like them, but because I would fit in perfectly. And I was right. As soon as I walked along the shore and saw their homeland, I knew this was the perfect place where I was meant to be. One of the fairies saw me and instead of running, he came towards me. He introduced himself and I immediately told him my situation, so that he would not be frightened and so that he would know I wanted to stay with them and become one of them. I spent the next few days get...

Week 9 Story: Justice is Served

Justice is Served The husband and wife were so in love. They were ever thankful to the doctor for introducing them to each other. If it weren't for him, they would have never found each other. But that's beside the point. What they were really interested in was the money. They loved each other but they were both greedy. They thought they could never be ultimately happy unless they were rich. They both had worked for the doctor at one point or another, and so they knew that he had more money than he knew what to do with! The husband and wife were talking one night about their lack of income and how neither of them held jobs. They decided that their best bet would be to deceive the doctor and take his money! The next day, the husband went to the doctor and asked if he could borrow some money to help his wife, who was sick. The doctor willingly gave the husband money, because he trusted him and wanted the wife to get better. A week later, the husband returned, claiming his wif...

Week 5 Story- The Genie's Awakening

Oh, it's dark in here. It's really, really dark in here and I am tired of the dark. I have been in this ring for years and years...I lost count after my 563rd year. I just gave up hope at that point. I used to rehearse my lines every single day, hoping that someone would rub the ring and let me get out of this dark hole! Now I just sit here, somber and bored, waiting to die. Which I know won't ever happen because genies don't die. We just sit in the dirt of the ring, waiting. All of my friends that were down here got to leave. Their rings were rubbed by not mine! It's just not fair. I hate the way I've become; negative, lame, and boring. I just cannot help it though, I am sad and I won't stop being sad until someone lets me out of here! Genie by Cool Silh  The reason I am so willing to get out is because one time, just once, I was out of the ring for a day. Someone accidentally touched the ring when they were digging for some other piece of treasure...

Week 4 Story- The Hungry Urshana

It had been seven days that all of the animals had been stowed away on the ship. They were hungry. They were tired. Their paws, claws, and hooves hurt. It seemed as though every moment another type of animal was complaining about something, and it took all Noah had to be patient and try to tend to their every need. He was exhausted as well; not only did he have to build this giant ark, load all of the living things on the entire earth into the ark, load and take care of this family, but he also had to feed every species on the boat. Imagine herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores all living in one boat. It was all Noah's responsibility to keep them from eating each other and from eating Noah and his family! For such a long time, as well. This was not just a week-long, leisurely vacation with his family. This was the entire responsibility of saving the world that God had put in Noah's hands! So yes, stressed and exhausted is an understatement. On the eighth day, Noah was walking ...

The Lonely Lion's New Love--Week 2 Story

The Lonely Lion's New Love One day, a lion named Androcles left his cave and his family in search of something more. He was tired of living the same life and doing the same, mundane things every single day. He needed change and excitement because, after all, he was middle-aged and still had not found his mate. After leaving his cave, he wandered for what felt like weeks. He came across no lionesses that seemed like a good fit for him, and he was beginning to become dejected. All of a sudden, he heard the most horrible, saddening cry. He was frightened by the noise, but was brave and so went to see what caused the awful shriek. As he got closer and closer to the cry, he was able to see that it was a beautiful gazelle. Androcles saw that the gazelle was trapped in a roped netting that was presumably set up by a hunter. The gazelle was so terrified that she did not even see Androcles approach the trap. He circled the netting, trying to find a way to save the gazelle, selfishly doin...
